Who We AreAll staff hired at JPGMA go through a rigorous vetting process. We strive to hire the best teachers in each area to work with the children at the Academy. Teaching is a vocation. The ability to work with multi age groups is both a great gift and responsibility. Each staff member is required to have a background check and is approved by the Head of School, Advisory Board, and Board of Directors.
Maria, a native of Costa Rica, came to the United States in 1988 after graduating from high school. She studied Electrical Engineering at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University. Due to her desire to raise her family, she withdrew just short of graduation. Maria homeschooled her ten children for twenty three years. She is eager to share her knowledge and experience with the students at John Paul the Great. Maria enjoys reading, expanding her knowledge of all things math and science, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
