Who We AreAll staff hired at JPGMA go through a rigorous vetting process. We strive to hire the best teachers in each area to work with the children at the Academy. Teaching is a vocation. The ability to work with multi age groups is both a great gift and responsibility. Each staff member is required to have a background check and is approved by the Head of School, Advisory Board, and Board of Directors.
Kelly Bobak Smith graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2009, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, at FUS. That same year, she and her Canadian rugger husband, Theodore Smith, welcomed their first child, Francis.
In 2011, Kelly, Theodore, and Francis moved to Virginia in pursuit of the dynamic and ever-growing wine industry. Their family later grew with the birth of daughters Lucy and Rose. The Smith family proudly own Capstone Vineyards in Linden, Virginia where they currently work the land and purse their dreams!
Kelly has served as the Nurse at Christendom College Health Clinic for the past 11 years, while Theodore has also been part of the Christendom community as the College’s rugby coach. Together, they often joke that one “breaks the students” and the other “fixes them.”
Kelly’s greatest joy of living in Virginia has been watching all three of her children grow from toddlers through high school within the beautiful Catholic Montessori educational tradition at JPGMA. Our Lady of Guadalupe and JPII, pray for us!
